ALF Teens 2025 – 2026
ALF Teens meetings are held at Action League of the Foothills, 4607 Oakwood Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge. We are next to the library and across the street from TJ Maxx. All meetings take place in the Common Meeting Room (CMR), down the driveway to the left of the building and behind Bargain Box Thrift Shop.
The ALF Teens calendar traditionally runs from August through May. The meeting day of the week and times vary from year to year. For the 2025-2026 season of ALF Teens, meetings will be held on Mondays from 6:00-7:00 PM. Interested students must register for the program and pay $50. Students may not attend meetings without being registered.
After registration, a welcome email will be sent prior to the first meeting date in August. All important information is sent to both the ALF Teen and their families via email, text and also posted on the website. Be sure to keep your contact information up-to-date or these notifications may not reach you.

ALF Teens in Action
As members of the Action League of the Foothills ALF Teens auxiliary, students meet monthly and work together on many projects. They also staff the Bargain Box Thrift Shop on the second Saturday of the month from September to May. This year, ALF Teens will be required to work AT LEAST ONE Bargain Box shift on the 2nd Saturday of the month and on any other Saturday when assistance is needed. Of course, students may work more than the required number of days and often do. Working in the Bargain Box is fun and provides great retail experience for any future jobs. There will be sign up sheets at each meeting for these shifts and other volunteer opportunities as they occur.
In addition to conducting business and working on projects, ALF Teens receive informative presentations such as this one on plastics and their effect on the environment that was presented by ALF Teen, Melina Tsotras. She studied this subject in connection with her Girl Scout Gold Award.  Also at this meeting was Action League of the Foothills member Rose Nielsen, who brought her therapy dog Goldie and shared their experiences helping hospitalized children. The ALF Teens were so inspired by Team Rose & Goldie that they voted to support the Amerman Family Foundation dog therapy program at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. ALF Teens purchased 137 embroidered, lightweight jackets that were delivered to the hospital for volunteers to wear during their therapy sessions.

The ALF Teens Coordinators regularly send information and schedules directly to students via email. Be sure to indicate the best email address for your student during the registration process and let us know promptly if any changes occur. For your convenience, the information sent to ALF Teens will also be sent to parents and posted here. Specific student information, like names of participants for an activity, are always redacted in the online version.
